Cycling Fundraiser Postcard

We’ve been happy to do several different fundraising and communication pieces for Christ’s Hope. This international missions organization is working towards an AIDS free Africa and their U.S. office just happens to be right here in Traverse City.

This card was sent as a response thank-you to all those who had supported cyclists in their big fundraising campaign—the transcontinental tour Ride for Hope.

The 14 cyclists rode the 3,250 miles across the United States and raised $100,000 Africa!

This piece seems simple, but we made use of several skills including copy writing and photo manipulation to really make this card beautiful.

 

Cadillac Postcard

Ever notice how every single promotional postcard about a BIG SALE from your local auto dealership looks pretty much exactly the same? It has basically become white noise and most of the time these things end up in the recycling bin before they even reach the house.

This postcard was created for a local Cadillac GM dealer who wanted a promotion that was different. He was putting on a big event and needed a design that stood apart from the noise.

We threw out the typical big-lettered photo collage in favor of a stripped down vintage inspired postcard.

The client loved it!

The Breakfast Club

I created a set of posters for this year’s Traverse City Film Festival. The non-profit festival was started by Michael Moore along with a few other film arts supporters six years ago and has grown exponentially since then thanks to a lovely Lake Michigan setting and thriving Traverse City art community.

This year the Traverse City Film Festival posthumously honored John Hughes with their equivalent of a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Fashion Event Poster

Poster design for a fashion show event in Saginaw, Michigan. Event was promoted as a fun time out for the girls while their husbands disappear for the opening of hunting season.

From what I understand, the event was canceled because a main sponsor dropped out at the last minute, but it is a pretty cool idea and I think they are going to try again next November.

The event promoter really liked my Design by Humans t-shirt “Deers are the New Birds” and thought I could do something cool for this event. I really enjoyed working on this project (and with Jeff) and I think it turned out pretty cool.

The printed version of this was designed with the “back” half of the piece upside-down so that the kids could read from one side and the parents from the other… meeting at the registration form in the center. (Some pages flipped and rearranged for this digital preview).
